A Twitter Inspired Haiku
Turbulent a storm;
One of great strength and anger;
The leaf flutters by.

Workplace Poetry #3
I shall wait until the darkness falls to steal forth
and fall upon the compositor with great vengeance and many parchments.
Upon the fortnight, a great wind shall blow from the East,
and the wind shall be known as Catherine.
I am wind.

Workplace Poetry #2
Don’t throw away your memories.
You never know when you’ll want them back.
(Don’t throw away photographs just because you hate people.)

Coldplay
After being denied nearly four years ago, Liz and I finally made it happen; we saw Coldplay. Come hell or high water (A hurricane in our case), we were not going to be denied. Oh no… not this time. We were not going to go quietly into the night. We cut out of work early and made the drive; our efforts did not go unrewarded.
They did an acoustic cover of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean”; that alone made the trip worthwhile. The production (lighting, effects, etc.) of the show was amazing. Each song felt like its own show. And don’t forget about Chris Martin; he gets high marks for his showmanship skills. He improved a song about Texas while playing the harmonica that the concert goers ate up.
We would definitely see Coldplay again, but I would want it to be in an epic English venue. Maybe the o2 Arena or Wembley Stadium next time?
Side Note: If you are ever in the Woodlands, check out the Goose’s Acre Pub.
Workplace Poetry
It’s so harsh.
I don’t need to see every single detail in life.
I’m fine with it being gray around the edges.

Geek Game Night
All the geeks cool kids are doing it. You’re a geek cool kid if you’re playing games like Munchkin Quest or The Classic Dungeon. I’m doing both; that pretty much makes me a geek (cool kid)2.
Check out the blog for our game night at Geek Game Night. It really is weekly geekdom at its finest (It’s true because the byline says so).
A Great Crusade
Tomorrow is the 65th Anniversary of the Allied Invasion of Normandy. I’m amazed at the courage it had to have taken to charge off the LCVP onto the beach; it’s difficult to fathom. I’m very humbled to know that there are people willing (past, present, and future) to put their life on the line for our country. To the soldiers and families who sacrificed then and the soldiers and families who are sacrificing now, thank you.
These are photographs from the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, Mississippi. I’ll make it to Normandy one day.
Death Breath
Public Service Announcement: When confronted with the option to bring home cow bones for your dogs; don’t. You will wake up with a dog in your face whose breath wreaks of death and demonic intent.
